IAM Student Takeover: Day Party for Teens – Saturday, June 21st

Date:  Saturday, June 21, 2014

Time:   12 PM – 4 PM

Location: Philadelphia Center for Arts and Technology (PCAT), 2111 Eastburn Avenue

Now in its second year, IAM has provided virtual mentoring services for students in the Philadelphia Center for Arts and Technology (PCAT) Full S.T.E.A.M Ahead program. The virtual mentoring programs (IAMgirltalk.org and IAMguytalk.org) allow students to maintain positive relationships with college students, entrepreneurs, and young professionals. IAM also offers a variety of seminars and workshops for youth ages 11 – 18 and parents.

In an effort to maximize the virtual experience offered to the students during the curriculum year and engage parents, other youth, principals and instructors, IAM will host its first annual IAM Student Takeover at PCAT. The event is designed to combine aspects of the virtual mentoring program in a fun engaging environment. During the event, there will be an opportunity for new mentors to sign up and complete orientation, parent workshops, information sessions for principals and instructors as well as educational workshops for students. The highlight and big drawn of the event will be a day party with a DJ and free lunch.

The goal is for students, parents and instructors to learn more about IAM and gain a better understanding and leave with information/resources to help them educationally, professionally and personally.
